LOCAL RESTRICTIONS SUPPORT GRANTS
LRSG (Closed) Addendum is the new kid on the block from 5 January. This replaced LRSG (Closed) and LSRG (Open) that had been available from November 2020.To be eligible for this scheme you need to have been forced to close by the national restrictions currently in force. This includes:
- Pubs, restaurants and cafes
- Hotels and accommodation
- Health and beauty establishments
- Leisure and visitor attractions
- Non-essential retailers
To be eligible you need to operate from premises registered for business rates. Grants are for six week periods from 5 January at the following amounts:
Rateable value less than £15,000 – £2,001 per six weeks
Rateable value up to £51,000 – £3,000 per six weeks
Rateable value exceeding £51,000 – £4,500 per six weeks
However, you cannot get funding if you either:
- continue to operate because you do not provide ‘in-person’ services from your premises, or
- you have chosen to close but have not been required to do so
CLOSED BUSINESS LOCK-DOWN PAYMENT (CBLP)
The criteria for this is exactly the same as for the LRSG grants above. There is no separate application mechanism for this – all businesses receiving LRSG will receive the CBLP. The one-off grants are as follows:
Rateable value below £15,000 – £4,000
Rateable value £15,000 to £51,000 – £6,000
Rateable value exceeding £51,000 – £9,000
ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS GRANT (ARG)
The government have made additional funding available to councils and have given them freedom to determine their own eligibility criteria for grants. If you do not pay rates, or your premises has not been forced to close by restrictions, you may by entitled to discretionary funding via ARG. For example, your business might supply retail or hospitality businesses that have been forced to close. Grants range from £1,500 to £10,000, depending on number of employees. Wiltshire Council have only just opened to applications (26 January) so we strongly recommend that you apply as soon as possible if you think you have a good case.
If you were previously receiving LSRG grants from November then there is no need to re-apply and you should already have received notice of the further funding of both LSRG and CBLP. If you are newly closed from 5 January, or think you may be eligible for ARG, then you need to apply as soon as possible.
